Twenty years of moving one step further up the part.

Advance Semiconductor started in 2004 making wafers. Then the ingot the wafers came from. Then the chamber parts machined out of it, the quartz around them, and eventually the service that keeps all of it running. Each step was a customer asking whether we could also do the next thing.

What we are building

A transparent ecosystem, not a catalogue.

Our stated mission is to develop a transparent ecosystem for the best customer experience, by building a cohesive network of parts, service and solutions. In practice that means one supplier can fabricate the part, clean it when it comes back, repair the component it sits in, and support the tool around it — without the customer managing the seams between four vendors.

Transparency is the harder half. It means telling you which grade we used, which cleaning method the job took, what the measurement actually read, and when we cannot do something.

History

How the business took its current shape.

  1. 2004

    Established in Santa Clara

    Founded producing silicon, sapphire, quartz and ceramic wafers, in the middle of the equipment cluster we still serve.

  2. 2008

    Bi-directional silicon ingot manufacturing

    Moved upstream from wafers into growing our own silicon.

  3. 2010

    Casted mono ingot for semiconductor parts

    Among the first to take mono-cast silicon into chamber consumables — the basis of the focus and edge ring business.

  4. 2012

    Advanced materials fabrication, and equipment support

    Added technical advanced materials fabrication alongside equipment performance support, with factories established in Binh Duong, Da Nang and Hue, Vietnam, working with the US sites.

  5. 2016

    Custom field service response and repair

    Field service formalised into a division, with response and repair scoped per customer rather than sold as a generic retainer.

  6. 2022

    Parts, service and solutions as one network

    The three lines brought together deliberately, so a customer can enter at any of them and use the others without re-qualifying a new supplier.

Engineering, wafer services and fast-turn work sit in Santa Clara. Volume quartz and silicon parts fabrication runs from the plant at VSIP, Vietnam. For customers under pressure to diversify away from a single-country supply chain, that structure is usually the reason the conversation starts.

Where we fit

Independent, and sized for the work most suppliers decline.

The silicon parts market is concentrated, and several of the larger suppliers are owned by equipment makers. If you build tools, that means handing drawings to a division of a competitor. We have no OEM parent.

We are also small enough that a fifty-piece order, a single replacement or a prototype gets the same process as volume production — which matters, because that is how qualification starts.
